Help Mikey Get His Girlfriend Back - I'm Sponsoring a Poetry Competition

I decided to sponsor a poetry competition on Booksie.com.  My friend Mike broke up with his girlfriend and I'm looking for the best poem that he can use to try and get back together.  The deadline is February 13.  Yup, right before Valentine's Day.  Don't say I don't try to help Mikey!!

I'm giving the winner $25.  To find out more, check out my site on Booksie.  It's free to enter, of course.

http://www.booksie.com/phillip_lanuto_iii

So go ahead, spread the love, maybe win $25, and help out Mike.  God, he needs it.

Phil

my guess is that if its not one thing, then it'll be another. today he's not attentive enough, tomorrow he's not romantic enough. girls just complain too damn much! it's our nature :)

so, what's with this game plan to get them back together? they'll only get back together if she used dumping him as a means to force him to do what she wants. but if she dumped him because she already tried to work it out and now she's fed up, then mike is shit out of luck!

hopefully, it's not the latter... good luck, cupid!

i think he just wasn't paying enough attention to her.  i hope the right words said sincerely will help heal the rift.  but i'm an optimist :).

heyy lol thanks !!!! wanna read one of my poems  ok!!

once upon a time there were two people who fell for each other.....but couldn’t be together

The risk was to big to take…..they would never make it

She would give anything

take the risk or nothing at all, not being ready for the fall

He was scared , scared of it all

In societies eyes it was all wrong

No one could know, they had to pretend they weren’t even friends

Hoping to be together in the end

To only be able to be with your best friend .

So he left, left her alone , to go about his life

He must of forgot to tell her this

Because she never stopped waiting, he had her broken but still hoping

Then one night he called her ……out of the blue

And all the feelings came back, he was once again everything she ever lacked

She thought everything was good, but she must have misunderstood

It wasn’t long in till the calls stopped again ….. Back to pretend again

This time she kept trying

Then one night it worked, her mother was gone

And he was to come over

She got all pretty, all pretty for him

She danced and spin not being able to withstand

the wait for him to pull in

She waited but was ok, knowing he’d come to be able to make her day

A hour went by and she started wondering why

Two, three then four hours

Now she lied on the bathroom floor starring at the ceiling

She couldn’t take this no more

She dried her tears and softly whispered goodbye

Knowing she would still be waiting inside…..

hmmm so lets play this by ear....

Staring out into space, again
The landscape hasnt changed at all
Since the last time you checked
(24 seconds always seem like 24 hours
everytime you realize you cant go back in time)
You dont know what youre waiting for
Retracing footsteps is impossible in winter storms
When the streets are covered in ice
(slipping and sliding into the past
demanding a response from your reflection is hopeless)

Nah, he'll give you credit.  He's not a writer and could never pass himself off as one.  She'd small a rat.  She's just gonna be impressed he went through the trouble to get an original poem for her.

Phil,
Ok I've posted a few poems on my Xanga page. The first two are in the same submission, labeled "Submissions for Poem Contest" [they're hard to miss!]. The third submission is titled "Cannot Lie". I'm not sure if they'll work, but I did my best.
Thanks!
Lynda

[p.s. i dont have a booksie account, so i placed them on my xanga. i hope thats ok]
